The Advice, in reference to turning your brake rotors:

There is a ‘low-budget’ solution also. Take VERY course sandpaper (36 or 30) Scratch your rotor’s up. (really scratch them up!) Then install metallic pad’s. A guy I’ve known since 68 told me about it.I did not believe that would work.I tried it on my car back in the late 90’s and it actually worked! I figured, worse case, they will still wobble. If you have an extremely warped rotor it probably would not work, mine was a mild steering wheel shake on the brakes.

Unfortunately, this will not make your rotors true again. I know! I’m surprised too! Now, despite the insanity of this idea, there may be an explanation of why this could work. Sometimes, a “warped” brake rotor isn’t warped at all. The pulsation is actually caused by unevenly bedded brake pad material. This is more common than people think, and following a good brake bedding procedure can sometimes help solve this problem. However, if the rotors are cheap and have an uneven surface porosity, or any number of other defects, this won’t help either way. Anyway, maybe scuffing the surface aggressively with course sandpaper could provide fresh metal for pad break in to solve that problem, however I’m really stretching it here. It will certainly not make the rotor surface flat again. The typical amount that a rotor is warped is measured in thousands of an inch, or 0.001″, and I doubt your sandpaper is that precise. Either way, I don’t recommend this procedure! At a minimum, it will lead to aggressive pad wear for a few thousand miles due to the deep rotor grooves.
